Inside the Louloudi Lab: A Tour of My Creative Sanctuary
When I started Louloudi, I knew one thing for sure—I wanted to make everything in-house. The lab has had many iterations over the years, some good, some chaotic. Originally, it was in a spare bedroom that is now our shipping room. Eventually, Louloudi migrated off the kitchen, into what was supposed to be our dining room.
It’s kind of funny to think about how much this business has taken over my home. But even in the moments where I thought I might leave it all behind, this room? This room was always going to be a space where I made things.
That’s why there’s an easel in the corner. An art box full of oil paints and brushes on the floor. Tools for ceramics. Boxes of dried flowers and handmade paper stacked next to copies of my vision board book. Props for photoshoots tucked beneath shelves of ingredients. This isn’t just a lab—it’s a maker’s space, a true creative sanctuary.
Making skincare and body care is a lot like making food. Many of the same ingredients live in both rooms. And I love walking in here just to smell something, grab a jar, and whip up a quick potion.
Clients who visit often get a tour of the shelves and my giant soap-making tank that fills the house with the scent of cocoa butter. I love the ability to make anything on demand. In the fall, the metal pipes are covered with magnet hooks that hold bundles of dried herbs and flowers, filling the room—and the house—with rich, earthy fragrance.
This room is impressive. But more than that, it’s the heart of my creativity. Every bottle you receive started here, infused with not just ingredients, but intention.
Welcome to my lab. Welcome to Louloudi.
